Post 10 - Evaluation of Blog Experience

In general, the experience didn’t seem good or bad, but it seemed a very necessary activity. Writing blogs was a very stressful experience for me, because I find it hard to write in English, but it was an opportunity to learn a lot. I feel that my writing skills improved a lot and I feel much more confident when writing in English.

In the future I think that other forms of writing should be included, maybe related more to journalism, for example to write news, reports, among other things. I would also like to write about other topics, I would love to write about a musical group, a series or a movie, it would be very fun and would be interesting to include in some way activities aimed at creating something with audiovisual content in the blogs for practice the way of speaking in English.

I think that writing blogs was a different experience to learn English and the objective was achieved because I feel that now I know much more than before, but I feel that still have a lot to learn.  I hope that in the next level of English I continue these activities but as I wrote before should be a write more oriented to journalism so that what I learned makes even more sense.

Post 9 : A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

This semester has had the most boring subjects for me because I could never understand so that I might need in the future most of the subjects that I had this semester but the one I liked the most was "Realización Periodística Audiovisual", this subjects was one of the most funny and was my favorite for because it wasn't such a theoretical subject but it was learned through practice.

In the lessons of this subject we saw many audiovisual examples created by previous students of the subject for from that learn the necessary to build our own audiovisual works. Also we had some lessons with an expert person in oral expression where we learned how to express ourselves in front of a camera.

The contents have seen in "Realización Periodística Audiovisual" had to do with how to build different types of relationships using all the audiovisual tools available. For example we made a "nanometraje", "microdocumental" and "informative notes".

This subject had the activities that were most fun to do and we even had to go outside of Santiago for record the microdocumental in San Antonio, this subject was one of the only ones that allows creative freedom in each of the creations that were made.

Post 8- An Expert on your Field

The person that I admire in the field of journalism is Lenka Franulic, she was born in 1908 in Antofagasta, she was the first woman journalist in Chile and the only chilean win the journalist woman of the year award of the "Professional Society of Women Journalists of the United States" in 1958.

She is important for me for different reason one of those is because she participated in the foundation of the "Escuela de Periodismo" of the Universidad de chile. Her journalistic work is characterized for having interviewed very important people of the time.

I admire Lenka Franulic because she was able to have a profession in a time that is characterized by being very sexist. In addition, the interviews and works that I have read about her are characterized as being very innovative for that time, I feel that even many of her works have a feminist approach. She  opened the way for women like me to study journalism and this is very important, if she hadn't been a good journalist maybe the way for women to take over journalism would have been more difficult.

Post 7: My Indignation.

The violence towards the community LGTQ+

My indignation is about the violence that has been seen against the LGBTQ+ community. I think the violence is always a bad way to solve things is for this is because this situation indigns me even more.

I think that violence is always wrong but when it is unjustified it is even worse, the hatred towards this community it usually comes from people aren't able to accept that there are different ways of loving and living.

It's very shocking to see how these situations of violence occur in all countries, it's sad to see how people around the world die to be themselves.

The bad thing about these situations is most of the time this hatred comes to situations of extreme violence where people have been killed because they belong to the community LGBTQ+.

In the month of pride should be essential talk about this in different instances becauses is the only form for give the importance to this topic.

I hope we can all live and love the way we want without fear of receiving some kind of aggression by people don't respect diversity.

Post 6: Sexism Shown in a Fiction Character that I Love.

Johnny Bravo is sexist

When I was a little girl every afternoon I watching Cartoon Network in the TV and some days they gave this series and at that moment I found it funny, but now that I grew up it seems to me a very sexist character.

Johnny Bravo is a character of a presuptuous guy that his only hobbies was trying to conquer women and look great.

In the all episodes in this cartoon, Johnny Bravo makes women fell very uncomfortable because it was very rude and always said compliments that obviously they didn't want to listen.

An example of his attitude is seen in the next gift where he refers to women with different adjectives and the last sounds very rude because "chicks" it's a derogatory and sexist way of referring to us women.
